Spinal Flow Q&A

What is Spinal Flow Technique?

Spinal Flow technique uses gentle contacts on the cranium, sacrum, and coccyx to remove stress which has stored in the body along the spinal column. As these layers of stress are removed, relief from pain and disease is experienced.

How does Spinal Flow Technique work?

Our bodies are full of electrical charges (nervous system) and life force energy.  The Spinal Flow Practitioner uses Quantem Touch to raise the electrical vibration of their body which will then entrain with their client. Upon making contact with specific points on the spine, the energetic system in the client’s body switches into a “higher gear” and the body, being divinely intelligent, will seek out dysfunction and make necessary corrections to create more homeostasis.

How long does a Spinal Flow session take?

A Spinal Flow session can last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. Here at Beyond Bodywork, sessions are generally 25 – 30 minutes long for private sessions, and 45 minutes for couples or group sessions.

Do I have to undress for a session?

No, Spinal Flow is done completely clothed. It is recommended that one wear sweat pants or yoga pants, as sometimes jeans with a large seam can making locating access points on the sacrum and coccyx difficult.

What does Spinal Flow feel like?

The experience of Spinal Flow is unique, not only to each person, but also to each session. It is normal for clients to feel very relaxed, with reports of feeling weightless, almost as though they are floating. It has been said that lights or visions were seen during a session. Tingling has been felt in the body. Extreme stillness – almost as though in a REM sleep state, however, while still being aware. Clients have experienced changes in breath, twitching or moving on the table, as well as emotional releases. There have also been people who have reported feeling nothing while on the table, however, small gains were made in symptoms and posture and noted after the session. Your experience is completely unique to you and will change as your body makes the appropriate adjustments for your highest good.

Are there side effects?

Yes. Again, these vary from person to person and from session to session. A symptomatic healing is possible, especially if there is a lot of chemical stress in the body being released. There are times when a client will leave and just feel very good with no other effects. Some clients report sleeping really well for a couple nights or being a little tired. There have been headaches, sweating, nausea, and diarrhea experiences the day after a session. A negative side effect does not mean something bad is happening in the body. It actually simply means the body is expelling something it doesn’t need. A follow up session will help to push those symptoms through.

How often should someone have Spinal Flow done?

The body stores stress with in itself from the day we are born, and all this stress sits in layers. Spinal Flow helps to rid this stress layer by layer. Because of this, Spinal Flow is a frequency-based practice. Change will happen faster when sessions are done frequently. It is up to you and your practitioner to decide upon a treatment plan that works for you.

12 in 12 Treatment Plans

A 12 in 12 Spinal Flow treatment plan consists of 12 Spinal Flow sessions completed in 12 days. This is an aggressive treatment plan intended to create a large amount of change in a small period of time. Sessions can be done once a day or 2 to 3 can be done in one day. It does not matter how we fit them in, the importances of this protocol is completing all 12 sessions in 12 days.

This treatment plan begins with an assessment, which is repeated at the 6th and 12th visit so as to track progress and note changes objectively.

A 12 in 12 is offered at a discount with the guarantee that the therapist is made available to you for these 12 days. The commitment goes both ways, and to implicate this sense of commitment, cost for the program is taken up front and expires after 30 days.

Cost for the treatment plan is only $400 for 12 visits, 3 assessments, and home care protocols. Only three 12 in 12 treatment plans are accepted at a time so the therapist is able to meet the daily commitment. Because of this, there may be a small waitlist. While waiting, the therapist will consult with you at no charge and give you self-care protocols for home.
